Precious moments

She was born on May 29th 31 years ago, away far away from home. She was the most adorable baby I had ever laid my eyes on and the only human being I fell in love with at first sight before I fell in love again and again for the next seven times.

The moments was indescribable.  Having her nestled in my arms made me forget the exruciating  pains that I experienced minutes before. Made me forget that the old dr Potter was still stitching me. It was the first look eyes to eyes that really made that special bonds.

Bringing her up was not much of a hassle. As a baby as if knowing that her grandparents were not there to help me out, she was good. She cried only when she was wet, hungry or sick. Other than that she would just lay on her blanket playing by herself and fell to sleep whenever tired.

The girl next to my daughter is Liza, the daughter

of a malaysian couple studying at Penn State.

Wonder where she is now.  We never met again since we parted.

That was 31 years ago and since then the relationships between daughter and mother of course has it ups and downs. She is my daughter, my friend and even best friends have their quarrels on conflict issues. So do we. But when that happened, I always looked back to the precious moments that I had with her when we stared at each other for the first time.

Last night we had a family dinner at nasi arab house to celebrate her birthday but the birthday girl was trapped along the highway due to massive traffics on the way home from malacca. As people always say, no matter what, life has to go on.  So did we. We went on with the dinner program without the birthday girl.

Brrpp.. The rice was superb but I had to obey my diet. I had roast chicken and veges only but scooped two spoonfull of that nasi arab from adik's plate. It was really good.

Kaklong, Happy Birthday. I loved you before and I love you now. And thank you for bringing my grandson, Faris, to join us in this world.
